P&O Ferries is raising the capacity by 25% on the route Zeebrugge-Teesport by adding the ms Estraden to its fleet. The vessel replaces the ms Mistral. The Bore Song and the Estraden are loading the cargo flows of the English and Scottish markets.
PD Ports, owner and operator of several British ports, is starting from the English port an extra rail connection to Glasgow. Both initiatives will be aligned in order to create a gateway to the Scottish markets.
In Teesport it is about a second rail service to Mossend, near Glasgow.
With these initiatives both partners are anticipating the discontinuation of the shortsea service Zeebrugge-Rosyth of DFDS Seaways.
