The CODE FOR THE HANDLING OF DANGEROUS GOODS IN THE PORT OF ZEEBRUGGE/BRUGES is an application of article 25 and 56 of the "Regulation of the port of Zeebrugge/Bruges" (K.B. 28 January 1937).
The Special Regulation concerning the transport and handling of explosives, ammunition, dangerous goods and the execution of special acts, which may involve fire risks , explosion or environmental damage in the port of Zeebrugge, the sea canal" (edition 5 March 2008) is incorporated in this Code.
The Code completes the Special Regulation with documentation and useful information for anyone who is directly or indirectly involved with the handling of dangerous goods in the port of Zeebrugge/Bruges.
The LNG terminal in Zeebrugge is the gateway for the supply of natural gas in northwestern Europe.
Fluxys terminal plant is intended for unloading and loading of ships with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas)
The LNG is temporarily stored in tanks, and will then be put on the net for distribution, or will be used as fuel.
Every terminal recognized for the treatment of dangerous goods has a Hazardous Cargo Transfer Zone.
