As from November Maersk Line returns the AE7 container service between Northern Europe and the Far East to the port of Zeebrugge. This constitutes a compensation for the temporary discontinuation of the AE9 (till February 2011). The AE9 called at Zeebrugge and Rotterdam.
The AE7 service is operated with the largest container vessels in the world. The E-class vessels, Emma Maersk and her sister vessels, can load 14,000 teus, measure 398 meters in length and 56 meters in width.
As from November Zeebrugge will receive two "ULCS" or ultra large container ships on a weekly basis.
